Walking And Weight Loss: MIO Step 2 Pedometer Review

I purchased a Mio wristwatch/heartrate monitor and was happy with that.I thought having a pedometer with an FM radio is the perfect marriage of devices, so I ordered one.It came in record time, in good shape, (but Mio--lose the hermetically sealed packaging that it so frustrating and downright dangerous!)I grabbed the headphones and set out for a walk with my dog.

Pros:Strong clip won't come off easily; rubberized exterior might help it take a shock if it does fall; easy to set up; large display; reset is easy.

Cons:
For the radio there's no way to tell what radio station you've landed on!You press reset to bring the tuner to 88.5, or whatever, and scan up from there.You can't display the stations.I think this makes it practically worthless for the radio.I'll find one station and stay on it, I guess.

For the pedometer...It's not great, I have to say.I got 230 steps just from driving to work -- granted it is pothole season in Minneapolis, but come on.It's way too sensitive.Walking down the hall at work, it added 20 steps in a very short time.Also, the visibility of the digital output is angled outward so that you always have to tip the unit backward to see what it says.The engineers should have tilted it the opposite way (or straight up) so you could glance down and see the screen.

I don't think I'll send it back since it wasn't too expensive, but I don't recommend this pedometer.
