I was surprised by just how tiny this pedometer is!It is also accurate: each time I walk I count 100 steps to make sure it is in a good position and reading well, and it has not disappointed me yet.This is a very basic pedometer that counts only steps and miles, so if that is all you need, this one is great for the price!

Soehnle 63685 Pharo Quattrotronic Scale Review

I'm sorry to say that I am quite disappointed with this scale. It's my first Soehnle scale and I thought I would absolutely love it. The LED display is great ... very easy to read. The scale is very attractive. However, sometimes when the scale is moved just a bit it loosens the battery and the scale stops working, so I have to pick it up, turn it over, and open the battery housing. Also, when you step on it three times in a row it will change the read-out by anywhere from .1 to .3 pounds ... not such a big deal, but I wouldn't have expected this from a Soehnle product. I've thought about returning it to Amazon but haven't done so yet since these problems are not major. Still, I don't think I'd recommend this Soehnle model. I'd be interested to know if others have had similar problems and if there are any remedies, especially about the battery coming loose.

Body fat percentage measurement seems reasonable:I have another bathroom scale that measures body fat %, and the numbers match reasonably, although this product seems more accurate.However, I haven't used a professional, gym-class body fat calculator, so I'm unsure how accurate this feature is.

Combined with the hydration level measurement, this product allows you track your fat loss and LBM (lean body mass) gain perfectly.

The display is very large for comfortable reading, and it looks great in bathroom.

There IS a reset feature on this product contrary to what other reviewer said.It's in the manual; a matter of pressing and holding two buttons simulataneously.

A perfect buy at its price range.Possibly the best in its class.

Update on 2/5/2009:The body fat % measurement feature isn't all that accurate.I have contacted the manufacturer's customer service, and they confirmed it.Moreover, according to them, it only measures the body fat % of the lower half of your body, which, of course, is bound to create error.For its price, design, and features, it's still a great product though.

Taylor 938 Easy-to-Read Mechanical Scale with 5" Raised Dial Review

My review is for the Taylor mechanical scale with raised dial, chrome finish, and 360 pound limit/accuracy.It is the same build as model 938, but with a limit of 360 pounds rather than 300.

The scale is durable and functional, but the accuracy is variable.Their box states "accurate to 360 pounds" however, they are confusing accuracy with precision.Precision is zero to 360 pounds.Accuracy is within TEN pounds.

I find the following procedures help increase accuracy to within 1-2 pounds.
A) Set on flat surface.
B) Calibrate dial
C) put your full weight on the scale.
D) Step off
E) Wait 2-3 seconds for the scale to settle.
F) recalibrate dial
G) repeat from C

2-3 repetitions are required.It is possible that after a while, the spring will work in and stabilize, but for now, it tends to drift.I don't think this is suitable for lighter people or people who are very emotionally sensitive about their weight.This is suitable for a "pretty close" estimation.

If true accuracy is required, spend the $200+ for a professional grade scale.

Seeing how there was so many negative reviews for the scales on Amazon, I was at first doubtful whether I should buy one online.However, since this one was just about 12 bucks(+ Free shipping for orders above $25), I thought why not try it out?Anyhow, it turns out to be pretty good. Other than the fact that it needs to get calibrated quite often, I think it's pretty accurate within 5 lbs.If you want a simple, cheap, and functional analog scale, I say give this one a try.

Taylor 5596W Body Fat and Body Water Scale with Daily Caloric reference Review

This scale is very accurate with weights.It consistently gives the same results as the much more expensive scale at my gym.The problem is the Body Fat tester.It is very inaccurate.I went into this knowing that these things are never right, but can still be used as an indicator of whether your gaining or losing body fat.... Not so with this scale.First, it says I have 26% body fat (or higher sometimes).I'm 6'4", 185 and a basketball player in good shape.26% is for obese people.It didn't matter whether I put it in Athlete mode or not.This would have been acceptable if I disregarded the actual number and used it as a gauge (If I have 25% a week later I'm doing good), but it couldn't be used like that either.I consistently jump from 20% to 30%, day to day.My routine is identical every day, wake up, drink a full glass of water, use the bathroom, wait 30 min, use the scale, didn't matter.Your body fat shouldn't change 7% in one day even after taking out the variables.So, it's basically a very expensive weight scale.

Weight Watchers Body Fat Precision Electronic Scale, White Review

I've tried Weight Watcher's before, and having good results with the program, I thought I'd have good results with this scale.

I was dead wrong.

This scale is such a piece of crap. I and all 3 other members of the family have tried using this scale in EVERY non-carpeted room of the house, and the scale is completely inaccurate. To give it some credit, it's usually within 5-7 pounds of your weight (but never the same number), but sometimes it can be off as much as 30 pounds. Yes, 30 pounds.

You can usually have a "general" area of where you are weight-wise, but you will never really get an accurate weight, just a guess after getting an average of 10 numbers or so.

I've had this scale for about a year, and have put it in every spot imagineable to see if the floor might be slanted or something that would alter the results. I have no luck. Do not spend your money on this scale, it's not worth it.

Health o Meter HDM770-05 Weight Tracking Scale, Black Review

I've had nearly the opposite experience as the previous reviewer. I have found this scale to be WILDLY inaccurate. If calibrated (by tapping the corner and waiting for it to zero out) I can step on and off of the scale 5 times and get 5 different readings that vary from 2-5(!) pounds (it is set on a hardwood floor), which has made the whole issue of weight loss a guessing game. I am left assuming I lost 10lbs because the averages have fallen by roughly 10lbs. However my doc tells me that during the same time he shows me as having lost only 3lbs and ~7lbs heavier than averaged. I will agree though, this hardly feels like it could take it's stated weight. I started at ~310 and was worried it would crack. Add to that a cryptic multi-user feature and I just would say no if this hadn't been given to me.
