Taylor 7328 Electronic Lithium Scale Review

I was worried when I read that it flips when you step on it but it really does not do that a whole lot and I have been very happy with my scale and with the Litium Battery it should last a long time. It will last longer then with regular batteries. I am happy with my purchase.

Taylor 9853 Superbrite Digital Scale Review

Bought mine in May 2005, now the only thing the scale shows is "-----" and "Err", even after I put in a brand new battery.

Now it is a big task to dig out the old paperwork and look up whether I can get any kind of warranty.

Taylor 7006 Lithium Electronic Digital Scale with 1-Inch LCD display Review

The other review almost scared me to cancel the order.Turned out it's not that bad at all.You just step on it, no need for reset or anything.It's pretty accurate and consistent, I'm 1.23lb heavier after lunch.Although after you move it, the first meaurement is off, that's stated in the manual.Also I thought the corlor is silver metallic from the picture, it's actually more like white/beige.

EDIT:
In one week, battery low came up twice already.Turned out the other guy maybe right.Wish I could lower the rating and exchange the product.

Taylor 938 Easy-to-Read Mechanical Scale with 5" Raised Dial Review

My review is for the Taylor mechanical scale with raised dial, chrome finish, and 360 pound limit/accuracy.It is the same build as model 938, but with a limit of 360 pounds rather than 300.

The scale is durable and functional, but the accuracy is variable.Their box states "accurate to 360 pounds" however, they are confusing accuracy with precision.Precision is zero to 360 pounds.Accuracy is within TEN pounds.

I find the following procedures help increase accuracy to within 1-2 pounds.
A) Set on flat surface.
B) Calibrate dial
C) put your full weight on the scale.
D) Step off
E) Wait 2-3 seconds for the scale to settle.
F) recalibrate dial
G) repeat from C

2-3 repetitions are required.It is possible that after a while, the spring will work in and stabilize, but for now, it tends to drift.I don't think this is suitable for lighter people or people who are very emotionally sensitive about their weight.This is suitable for a "pretty close" estimation.

If true accuracy is required, spend the $200+ for a professional grade scale.

Seeing how there was so many negative reviews for the scales on Amazon, I was at first doubtful whether I should buy one online.However, since this one was just about 12 bucks(+ Free shipping for orders above $25), I thought why not try it out?Anyhow, it turns out to be pretty good. Other than the fact that it needs to get calibrated quite often, I think it's pretty accurate within 5 lbs.If you want a simple, cheap, and functional analog scale, I say give this one a try.

Taylor 5596W Body Fat and Body Water Scale with Daily Caloric reference Review

This scale is very accurate with weights.It consistently gives the same results as the much more expensive scale at my gym.The problem is the Body Fat tester.It is very inaccurate.I went into this knowing that these things are never right, but can still be used as an indicator of whether your gaining or losing body fat.... Not so with this scale.First, it says I have 26% body fat (or higher sometimes).I'm 6'4", 185 and a basketball player in good shape.26% is for obese people.It didn't matter whether I put it in Athlete mode or not.This would have been acceptable if I disregarded the actual number and used it as a gauge (If I have 25% a week later I'm doing good), but it couldn't be used like that either.I consistently jump from 20% to 30%, day to day.My routine is identical every day, wake up, drink a full glass of water, use the bathroom, wait 30 min, use the scale, didn't matter.Your body fat shouldn't change 7% in one day even after taking out the variables.So, it's basically a very expensive weight scale.

I got this scale just for the "upscale" look.It's sleek metal with glass.They state that the lithium battery lasts a long time, so we'll see.It does take four rotations of the `zeros' to fly by before your weight is shown (to the half pound).It looks great and it's cheap.It's thick glass, so if your weight shows more than you expected, you can toss this sucker across the room and it won't break!

UPDATE:Almost five years and it is still working on the same battery!
